CEO & President
Bill Trzos has been in the insurance business for nearly 25 years. With a strong background in underwriting, executive and program management, Bill has led many companies to profitable success. Since he founded it in 2009, Bill has been the CEO of Atlas General Holdings which has become one of the largest privately held program administrators in the nation. Trzos began his career in 1995 as a commercial lines insurance underwriter. In 2001, he founded Cypress Point Insurance Services, where he managed more than $300 million of program insurance business. He then led the sale of Cypress Point to Arrowhead General Insurance in 2005, where he managed a team that wrote more than $1.6 billion of premium from 2005 through 2008. In 2015, Trzos directed a capital investment and strategic partnership between Atlas and Vanbridge Holdings LLC, an insurance intermediary, owned by V.J. Dowling. Vanbridge specializes in capital advisory, insurance and reinsurance management and is based in New York. Vanbridge continues to leverage the unique services offered by Atlas, making it a significant power in the program administrator space of the industry. Bill has worked with nearly every major insurance company and reinsurance company over the years with a long track record of successfully underwritten programs.
Chief Operating Officer
Ryan Clarkson is responsible for strategic and tactical operations, including the integration of new programs and lines of business into Atlas’ existing platform. Clarkson is responsible for enhancing information technology service offerings, data analytics and enforcing company service standards throughout the organization. Prior to Atlas, Clarkson served as a Senior Director with UnitedHealth Group and held management positions with Cisco Systems, Inc. He has over 20 years’ experience in technology, systems, operations management, product development, and cross-functional team leadership with leading Fortune 500 companies.
Chief Financial Officer
Brad Perilman joined Atlas in 2013 as its Chief Financial Officer. As Chief Financial Officer, Brad oversees Atlas’ financial reporting, finance and premium accounting departments. Brad is responsible for the development of Atlas’ financial strategies and corporate development efforts and serves as a key member of the executive management board. Prior to joining Atlas, Brad spent over eight years at Aon Benfield Securities and Benfield Advisory in New York and London. Before joining Benfield Advisory, Brad worked at Mercer and Marsh. Brad is a CFA charterholder and graduated from the University of Rochester cum laude with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science.
President of Workers’ Compensation Division
Mike Mathews is responsible for the development and national distribution of the Workers’ Compensation Division. Prior to Atlas, Mathews led program development and distribution at Arrowhead General Insurance Agency in the Workers’ Compensation Division. He has over twenty years of industry experience with a multi-line underwriting background from Ohio Casualty and Liberty Mutual. Mathews also served as Marsh’s Workers’ Compensation Practice Leader for ten years.
Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel
Experienced in claims, litigation, transactions, and labor and employment, Ryan Kirby’s legal background provides Atlas with a bridge between law and operations. Kirby is responsible for enabling Atlas to better evaluate effective legal strategies as it continues to grow nationally. Kirby received his J.D. from the University of San Diego, and for nearly a decade represented numerous Fortune 500 companies inside and outside the industry while an attorney in private practice. Prior to law school, Kirby received his B.A. from the University of Colorado and worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. as a legislative aide for Congress. Selected as an annual Super Lawyers rising star, Kirby brings significant legal expertise to the Atlas executive management board.
Chief Actuarial Officer
Tomer Eilam is responsible for Atlas’ actuarial analytics, and for helping to identify and research profitable growth opportunities for our carrier partners. Eilam is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and has focused most of his career on California Workers’ Compensation insurance. Prior to joining Atlas, Eilam was Principal of Omega Actuarial Analytics, where he provided actuarial consulting to insurance, research and insurtech companies. He has also held senior positions with Preferred Employers Insurance Company, a subsidiary of W.R. Berkley Corporation, and Arrowhead General Insurance Agency and has served on the Actuarial Committee of the California Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau.
Executive Vice President, Marketing
Mark Williams is responsible for the strategic expansion of Atlas’ various product offerings driving submission volume along with profitable results. Other responsibilities include program development, brand and content management, and agency expansion and oversight. Williams has held several key roles within the organization. Most recently he served as Executive Vice President – WC Underwriting, prior to leading the Marketing team. He has 14 years of experience including underwriting, marketing, audit, loss control and claims handling within the workers’ compensation space. Prior to Atlas, Williams’ experience includes various roles within Preferred Employers Insurance, a subsidiary of W.R. Berkley.
President of Property
Joe Ross is a seasoned underwriter with over twelve years of experience in personal and commercial insurance. Joe joined Atlas in 2016 and is responsible for the management and growth of Atlas’ Specialty Property Division. Through his extensive relationships he is able to drive foreign and domestic carrier partner expansion, doubling Atlas’ existing capacity since joining the company. Prior to Atlas, Joe was Assistant Vice President of Property at V3 Insurance Partners where he managed exclusive programs that offered All Risk and Difference in Conditions coverage to select brokerages nationwide.
President of Commercial
Charles Lasher is responsible for the development and oversight of Atlas General’s commercial division. Charles came to Atlas in 2015 and has built products, managed programs, and national distribution for the commercial division. Charles has over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry working with MGA’s focused on program business. Charles is a graduate from California State University Fullerton.
