At Atlas General Insurance Services, Joe Zuk is responsible for strategic development of new products, acquisitions, carrier relationships, new programs and geographic expansion. As the leader of the company’s commercial division, Zuk focuses on maintaining carrier relationships, developing new admitted and E&S carriers, and managing the acquisition of underwriting personnel for the division.
With a focus on result-driven underwriting, Zuk provides commercial, property and specialty insurance products and services to small businesses through national retail and wholesale distribution channels. Zuk has 11 years of experience in the reinsurance space, including roles in underwriting and brokering, in domestic and international markets. He previously served as SVP at BMS Intermediaries, responsible for the development and strategy of BMS’ nationwide initiatives.

Insurance industry producers recently surveyed by Insurance Business America, rated Atlas General Insurance Services among a select list of Five Star Wholesale Partners in the Commercial Property specialty. Criteria included premiums, underwriting expertise, product range and other key factors to determine the best wholesale providers. The Five Star status recognizes Atlas’s commitment and expertise as rated by agents nationally.

The Inc. 5000 Team recognizes some of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. The finalists are determined by their revenue growth percentage over a three-year period. In order to qualify, companies must be established and generating revenue by the first week in January in order to show three full years of sales. They must also be an independent, private, United States based business. Revenue in the first measurable year must be at least $100,000 followed by at least $2 million in revenue at the closing year of the annual ranking.The Inc. 500/5000 ceremony began in 1982 and this year (2016), Atlas ranked 1,873 out of 5,000 companies overall. Atlas ranked 21st in the Insurance industry. In the San Diego metro area, Atlas ranked 45th and 293rd within the state of California.

This program recognizes employers for their outstanding performance in establishing workplaces where employees can thrive, enjoy their work and help their companies grow.Best Places to Work in Insurance is an annual feature presented by Business Insurance and Best Companies Group that lists the agents, brokers, insurance companies and other providers with the highest levels of employee engagement and satisfaction. Harrisburg, Pa.-based Best Companies Group identifies the leading employers in the insurance industry by conducting a free two-part assessment of each company. The first part is a questionnaire completed by the employer about company policies, practices and demographics. The second part is a confidential employee survey on commitment and fulfillment. This year’s report features 75 companies of various sizes, from 25 employees to more than 6,500.

The Center for Generational Kinetics partnered with the workplace excellence research firm Best Companies Group (BCG), manages over 50 “Best Places to Work” programs around the globe. BCG analyzes data from the more than 4,000 U.S. organizations that participate in its various programs. BCG includes policy and benefit offerings from the employer questionnaires, as well as employee engagement data from the more than 500,000 employee surveys. In identifying the top 75 best employers for Millennials, the study reveals and recognizes the key attributes that sets Millennial-friendly workplaces apart.
