Steve Boyd

Steve Boyd is a Senior Underwriter for Atlas Insurance. Steve has over 15 years of experience in workers’ compensation underwriting including program management. Steve began his underwriting career at Golden Eagle Insurance Company as an Underwriting Assistant where he rapidly climbed to higher underwriting levels. Steve is proud to be a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Kristen Hakala
Senior Underwriter

Kristen Hakala’s insurance career began at Golden Eagle Insurance in 1991. After nine years, Kristen joined Arrowhead General as an Underwriter Assistant and shortly thereafter was promoted to a Program Underwriter. In November of 2009, Kristen accepted a Senior Underwriting position with Atlas Insurance where she will continue to develop and maintain carrier and broker relationships along with writing profitable business.

Mark Williams
Underwriter

Mark Williams’ professional career includes over five years of underwriting, marketing and sales experience in the insurance industry. Before joining Atlas Insurance, Mark worked as a Commercial Underwriter with a well respected insurance carrier. While there, he grew a profitable book of business by combining careful risk selection techniques with an ability to build strong relationships with agencies located throughout California. Mark’s education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Business from San Diego State University, as well as the ARM designation (Associates in Risk Management) from The Insurance Institute of America.

Blake Souers
Underwriter

Blake Souers is currently an Underwriter at Atlas Insurance, where he is responsible for writing new business and developing niche program markets with carrier partners for Atlas’ agency base. Prior to joining Atlas Insurance, Blake developed his business strengths in workers’ comp insurance while working as a Territory Representative with FirstComp Insurance for over 5 years. While there, Blake developed close relationships with brokers and oversaw the California partnership with Endurance Workers’ Comp Company.

Lon Smith
Underwriter

Lon Smith has worked in the insurance industry for nearly 20 years and recently joined Atlas Insurance as an experienced Underwriter. Prior to joining Atlas Insurance, Lon spent ten years with Liberty Mutual in the Workers Compensation Underwriting Department. Most recently, Lon worked at Preferred Employers Insurance Company for eight years. He is a Licensed Fire & Casualty agent.
